8 days

Day one...
I survived without a problem,
Missing you of course,
But I was still happy just knowing you were mine,

Day two...
I was okay,
I missed you but I coped,
Just knowing I'd see you soon,

Day three...
I'm starting to feel worse,
You have a chance to see me yet you don't,
I'm not happy, I won't see you for a while,

Day four...
I'm dreading it,
I know I'll just be crying and miss you,
And I know you'll be happy and fine,

Day five...
Will end in tears,
Because I will be thinking of what we'd be doing,
But you canceled so I'm all alone,

Day six...
Yet another day on the list,
More lonely hours without you,
Trying to put on fake smiles and happy eyes,

Day seven...
A week... gone,
Barely a single word,
Still trying to keep the tear drops from my eyes,
Straining to let go,

If one more day is to pass,
That's day number eight,

I'll keep my hopes high on seeing you that day,
But I can't take another let down,
At least not again this week,

Time will go slow,
And life will feel fake,
Minutes will feel like hours,
Hours feel like days,
Days feel like weeks,
Please don't make me wait 8 more days...
