Regret

She loved him so
but all he wanted is for her to go
yet she just held on
just holding on to call him her own

she grew more patient everyday
even though nastiness is all he's gotta say
she just closed her eyes and prayed
until all the hurt he caused would fade

she suddenly opened her heart
they won't be together and always be apart
she backed away and set him free
left him the way he wanted to be

he lived in drugs and women
his alcoholic well had deepen
sleep all day and party all evening
yet he looked for something that was missing

he knew that he had fallen for that girl in the past
the one who's love for him was vast
he searched all day and night
to rekindle and let the love ignite

he stared down at her and cried
oh how he begged for one last night
but all he can do is talk words all the same
for in the tombstone was her name
