Shades Of Black

My soul is black
And I can't change it back
Darkness lives within
And I must give in

Sometimes I can feel
As colors start to heal
But the blackness returns
And inside my heart yearns

Seasons change
But I'm still the same
And as bloody tears stain
I live through the pain

Beauty was lost
That was the cost
In the mirror of lies
There is no disguise

Just when I see
The brightness inside me
Darkness finds a way

And black is the shade
