Lesson Learned (cutting poem)

by samantha   Jun 27, 2005

A fallen drop of blood, a tear is now shed
Oh how over and over those wrists have bled
The bleeding wont stop, the cuts too deep
To her knees she fell and began to weep
She did not want this day to be her last
Now the time was flying by so fast
She can’t hold on to what she once knew
Waiting for her death, that’s all she can do
Then an idea passed through her head
She rolled over and hopped out of bed
To her desk she flew in a hurry
Then looked to the door and began to worry
What if someone walked into her room?
What would she say? What would they assume?
They’d probably be right [she knew in her head]
“That door MUST be shut” she then said
To the door she went and locked it up tight
If they wanted it open they must put up a fight
Then back to her desk in no time flat
She pulled out some paper and a pen at that
Then in a hurry she wrote to her friends
And the family she loved as her life now ends
Pounding on the door in now a rhythmic beat
They busted in to see a note at her feet
“I’m sorry to all! I loved you so much!
But I needed a friend and a heart to be touched
So please don’t turn and walk out of this room
Until I get my until I explain what’s wrong
To all my friends through thick and thin
I’m sorry how sad our departure must have been
You know I didn’t want to leave your side
But I had a problem with its ideas to hide
I didn’t want it to end this way
And for your forgiveness is all I pray
Good-bye to all, forget me not
And never neglect the surroundings you’ve got!!”
Now there is a moral to this un-happy story
Look at your life in all of its glory
Now never look back at the bad or the sad
Just stay focused on the good times you’ve had
For you never know which day will be your last
And how time can fly by so fast
So live, love, and learn to the fullest
And try to avoid those emotional bullets
