Love Always...Me

by Maegan   Jun 27, 2005

He pulled out the note,
In front of the crowd,
He unfolded it slowly,
And started to read it out loud,
"Dear Sammy," He started,
As he looked her in the face,
He was wishing she would smile,
And that he would catch it, just in case,
He had put all his heart in this note,
And all the words he wanted her to hear,
As he read all the words and quotes,
To his eyes, were brought tears,
He himself couldn't believe,
Just how much he loved and cared,
He looked at her face again,
To express the love he shared,
He turned to the last page of the note,
To read the poem he wrote for her,
It was meant to end the letter,
As all his memories stirred,
He wrote:
"I love you,
And I always will,
No matter where I go,
You will be with me still,
Never forget my love,
For it will always be true,
I just cant go on in life,
Not without you,
So please promise to guide me,
And Ill promise to try,
I beg you to stay with me,
I don't want to say goodbye."
He ended the poem,
And glanced at her dad,
And knew that he knew,
The feelings the two had,
He had no further words,
To say to the sobbing crowd,
Or at least no further words,
He wanted to say out loud,
He stepped down from the podium,
And stood by her side,
Knowing that every word was true,
Not once had he lied,
He looked down at her face,
Then to his senior ring on her hand,
He glanced at her bright pink sweater,
Then to her black dress pants,
Then back to her hand,
He bent down wanting to touch her cheeks,
But only his tears reached them,
The closer he got to her,
He just wanted to hold her once again,
He wanted to make sure she was alright,
And wanted to hear her voice,
He knew there was a reason,
But it wasn't her choice,
He set a red rose in her hands,
Knowing that everybody would see,
"I Love You." he whispered to her,
"Love Always...Me."
Though she didn't respond,
He knew that God let her hear,
All the words he meant to say,
When to say them he used to fear,
He set the letter,
By where her body lay,
The last words she heard from him were,
"I Love You."
And he'll cherish that every day.
