In Sickness and In Health

by ♥Munchkin♥   Jun 29, 2005

He sleeps,
The young and amazing soul he is,
He's curled up in my bed,
As he dreams, his forehead I gently kiss,
So innocent, un-intimidating,
Lovable and loving too,
I wish I could protect him from the pain,
I wish I could suffer instead of you,
He doesn't realize this but I'm head over heels,
I dream of being the one thing he lives for,
Of someday walking up that aisle,
And carried through OUR door,
I've never been a true girl,
Always been confused by big weddings and prince charming,
So when the feelings I feel for you arose,
To me it was quite alarming,
I don't want to do the tradition vows,
But I do agree with what they mean,
"Till death do us part"
Is what I will live by with the man of my dreams,
As he suffers in my bed,
I see images of us 10 years away,
Living together and loving each other,
Day after day,
While he sleeps I'll stay by his side,
Watching over him like an angel sent to protect him,
I'll stay with him through what may come,
Even in times when our future seems dim,
In my eyes he'll always be my hero,
My best friend, my true love,
He'll always and forever be in my life,
As though he was sent from above,
I haven't been very lucky with life until I found you,
You snuck up on my heart with stealth,
And through good times and through bad I'll be by his side,
In sickness and in health.
