When we were little
You taught me everything
From running and playing
To how to dance and to sing

We'd stay out for hours
And watch the sun rise
You'd hold me and comfort me
When dad caused my cries

We chased storms together
With your beat up old car
You taught me drum
And to play guitar

But then you left me
Without a trace
I felt so alone
And out of place
