Truth about Love

by livefreebright   Jul 7, 2005

Everything your parents raise you to you know
Becomes worthless in time
With their tales of happy times
And lies all wrapped in rhyme

As you get older you realize
You must come to face the fact
That life is not a fairy tale
Everyone and everything is an act

The world is full of bad things
People telling constant lies
Some will say they love you
The leave without a goodbye

Heartbreak lies along the road
That all of us will take
Love isn’t like the movies
All of that is fake

Nothing can prepare you
For the pain you may come to feel
Nothing they taught you in school
Can help a broken heart be healed

Love isn’t something you control
It’s just something that you feel
Love is so confusing
That you may not know if it’s real

It makes you toss and turn at night
Makes your pillow wet with tears
As much as you may understand
Love makes everything unclear

It can make you feel so happy
Like you feet don’t touch the ground
But in the blink of an eye
It can all turn around

You can not help the way you feel
Love isn’t something you can control
As much as it hurts we all need it
Love makes the world a whole
