Chemical realisation.

Just a boy trying to dream,
Embraces of angels a figment
Of imagination you wish you had.
Her eyes, just as perfect as ever,
But you’re changing, boy…. you’re changing.

You’ll love her forever,
Maybe realising that heaven isn’t in her eyes,
A halo you see on her head
Part of the same wish.
You wanted more from her, so much more,
You did expect an angel’s song from her words,
When her voice is that of a girl,
Just a girl.

Let humans do what animals do best,
Love and embrace, hold and cherish,
Care and reproduce, and stick.
No heaven, no angels, beauty though,
Love strong and heart flourishing,
But you’re just a boy, and she’s just a girl.

So, love her for today boy,
She’ll do the same….
But love is human, and chemicals,
Spiritual?
Delusions of a child

I love it. So descriptive. I love your manipulation of words. What is also effective is your play of emotions, kind of like a guitar solo. Incredible poem.
