The (almost) Suicide

by Ariel   Jul 12, 2005

She was friends with these girls
Until one tragic day.
They started to spread rumors
She really cared what they had to say.

They wanted to hurt her
They would gossip and lie.
They said these thing intentionally
They wanted to see her cry.

She decided to end her life
It seemed like the best choice.
But as she rose the knife,
She heard a little voice.

"Please don't do it, Valerie!
You can overcome
I know that in the end,
This battle you'll have won!"

It was a comforting voice.
Telling her to stop.
She knew this girl was there for her.
And would help her get back on top.

She put down the knife
And sat down on her bed.
She knew this girl very well.
She existed in her head.

This is a true story. I know this girl very well, we became friends after the incident. She made herself stop. I guess she realized that it didn't really matter what they said. I am glad she came to this conclusion, because I would have lost out on a really great friend. I am always there for you Val...know that, okay?
