Saturday Night (Anesa)

by sinister   Jul 19, 2005

Where I wasn't suppose to be,
Is where I ended up you see.
I crashed a cooking night,
Just for fun mind you.
Not suspecting I'd find you.

I was as high as a kite,
Intoxicated, ready to take flight.
And there you were, in a pretty pink dress
More innocently beautiful than the rest.

I remember your smile faster than I remember your name,
Alcohol's at fault, he's the one to blame.
"We'll keep in touch" is what you said,
So my number I offered before you fled.

I suppose I may never hear from you again,
Tough I must confess there's a part of me that wishes I'm wrong
Nigel said you seem interested,
But not to get my hopes too high.

Well I won't get them to high,
I'm just grateful to god for granting me the pleasure.
The pleasure of knowing you for 10 minutes that Saturday night.
