Hard To Let Go

I walked through life just existing until you gave your love back to me.

I cling to it with heart and soul and pray each day for him to set me free.

Only in my dreams do I see your face, kiss your lips or hold you now.

Because in a different place and time I made a lifetime vow.

I know someday I will be judged for this love I feel for you.

But I’ll stand before man and God and declare it to be true.

They can all point at us, shake their heads and say it is so wrong.

Yet I know that through eternity it will remain constant and strong.

I don’t want to hurt anybody but someday they’ll have to see.

It’s time for them to let me go because I will never give up on you and me.
