The Sea

by Abby   Jul 20, 2005

*I wrote this one day at the beach. Please comment!!!!!*

I love the shore with its golden sands,
and the way the grains slip through my hands.

And oh th sun! With it's blissful heat,
and the waves that splash up over my feet,

As the cry of the gulls and the hungry waves,
wash shells into velvet graves.

I run my hands through my matted hair,
lick the salt from my lips and then just stare.

I love the sun setting over the sea,
and the pathway of light for as far as I see.

I love the beach when there's no other cars,
and the taste of chocolate candy bars.

I love how the breeze whispers in my ear,
And the way the coves draw me near,

The stones like amber drops of dew,
and the endless surface of azure blue.

Those tiny sails of boats afar,
and hermit crabs in a silent spar.

I love the fragrance of the sand,
as I sit with a notebook and pencil in hand.

It seems when I'm here, I go on a spree!
I could ramble on forever about the sea...
