She thought that it was true love
She thought that it would last
She thought that he would be there but now it's just in the past

He told her he loved her
He told her he cared
He told her these things just so she wouldn't shed a tear

She didn't want to lose him
She didn't want to hurt
She didn't want to feel this way she just wanted to cry on his shirt

He lied to her
He called her names
He told other girls he loved them just as he did to her the same

She didn't want to realize it
She didn't want to cry
She tried to put this behind her but the hurt just wouldn't go away
