I'll love you till i die

There was this girl, and there was this boy,
Every moment for them was filled with such joy,
They said I love you everyday,
And said I miss you, when one of them went away,
They swore to each other, that they'd always be together,
And that their love would go on, forever and ever.

But one night driving home late, the girl whispered “I have something to say,"
He pulled over and said, "no matter what it is, I love you anyway,"
This made things a lot harder, for the girl to explain,
But in the dark she said "my feelings for you have changed,"
A silent tear rolled down her cheek, as silence was the only sound,
He just stared into the dark, for his voice could not be found,
But instead he handed her a note, she slowly put it away,
He asked, "Is there nothing I can do to make you stay?"

About that time bright lights rounded the corner, and hit them head on,
The next thing she remembered was waking up at dawn,
The nurse walked in and asked "how are you feeling, miss?"
She just shrugged her shoulders, wondering how she ended up like this,
All she remembered was the bright lights then the crash,
She asked the nurse about him, and she said "sorry he didn't make it, for his head went thought the glass,
She sat there on the bed; she didn't know what to do,
She couldn't even believe that this was true.

The nurse left the room, bidding her goodbye,
Telling her "miss its ok to cry,"
Thinking about him, she remembered the note,
Pulled it out of her pocket and this is what he wrote:

"Dear darling, I love you so dear,
And I’m willing to shed this final tear,
For I know your love for me is coming to an end,
But just remember you'll always have a friend,
Until the day I die, I’ll always love you,
Love truly,
Me"

Tears welled up in her eyes, as they dripped to the page,
Thinking about how ironic it was that he gave it to her yesterday,
She wished that it was her instead, because she'd hurt him so bad,
The thought that she survived and he didn't, made her depressingly sad.

She went to the funeral, watched them lower the casket into the ground,
Her dull red rose, slowly followed it down,
She stared into the casket filled ground,
She whispered "I’m sorry", making sure no one was around,
She sat down beside the grave, and pulled out a note,
The one he gave her that fatal night, the one that he had wrote,
She softly read it to him, adding one more line,
"I to shall love you till the day I die; God took your life, now I will take mine."
