We're both holding on

My bf went to a vacation to Chicago for a week.
It's nice to realize that I\'m missing someone,
Because that means I'm loving someone again.
I don't know what I miss about him,
It's strange, but I got to say,
It's better than a cold broken heart I had before.

We are't really a couple who was "meant-to-be,"
We aren't burning in love,
We aren't filled with kisses and dates and all.
But we like each other as who we are,
Respecting our differences someway or another.

Just his presence is something I need now,
I know for sure he doesn't "love" me,
But it's nice to know that he's trying to care,
And not trying not to break my
heart, and make my go to tears.

If I broke our relationship apart,
He would be doing the same thing,
He'd be silent but burning anger and sadness inside,
Because I know what's in his heart,
That's what happend when I talked to him about being apart.

I think that's what's making me hold on too.
If he didn't care, I would be depressed in the blues.
I know that we won't be together for long,
But I try to hold on because he's doing it for me,
I guess that's how our relationship was meant to be.
