Roses And Addiction

by Randee   Jul 31, 2005

I look back on our days,
With remorse and regret,
Of all the happiness,
Just thrown to the wind.

You turned my heart black,
The ripped it out,
You broke it in two,
And shoved it down my throat.

I know I must leave,
But I can't seem to go,
Your cruelty has become,
My last addiction.

Your love is like a rose,
So beautiful and sweet,
Yet dangerous and painful,
As can ever be.

I gave you my heart,
The best I could be,
You threw it in my face,
With only a laugh and a grin.
