This Binding Picture

by Angela   Nov 9, 2003

I stare at a picture
Of you and me,
It’s covered by glass
Clear to see.

The glass protects it
From getting bent,
I remember the day
This photo was sent.

We seem to appear
Happier than ever,
Our smiles express
True love forever.

A solid frame
Surrounds this picture,
It binds our love
In a soothing mixture.

This photo was made
Without any hate,
The couple within
Was bound by fate.

If this beautiful image
Ties us together,
It’s hard not to say
“We’ll be together forever.”

I gaze at this photograph
Each day and night,
Our adoring eyes meet
With one clear sight.

The love holding me
Is always from you,
I know we’ll never say
“I’m sorry, we’re through.”

I wake each day
Seeing your face,
I see the picture
And my heart seems to race.

I can’t imagine
A day without you,
This elegant portrait
Holds a love of two.

This dense frame
Is centered on my wall,
I examine it
While I wait for your call.

This delicate portrait
Reminds me of “us,”
I know our love
Will never be dust.

I remember distinctly
That silver necklace,
It represents the love
Shown at our first kiss.

This picture holding
Both us two,
Utters with silence,
“I Love You.”
