Looking Down At Me

by Spanky   Aug 7, 2005

Today I heard a song
That reminded me of you
And I looked to the skies
In hope of something new
But there you were
Looking down at me
Resurfacing a feeling
A feeling soul deep

Fleeing to the mountains
Where the air was crisp and clean
And the view was like none I had ever seen
Mountains touched the skies
And when I look up to see the tops
I ended up staring into your eyes

Cause there you were
Looking down at me
Resurfacing a feeling
A feeling soul deep

As the sound of birds faded away
And the warm sunny colors turned gray
I look up at the skies
And what I saw was something new
No longer was it just you
But by your side I stood too
And there we were looking down at me

Drawing my eyes from the clouds
I looked across the street
And there you stood staring back at me
Shrugging your shoulders and smiling sheepishly
You started to speak after a moment or two
“Baby, I’m sorry. I need to be with you…”
My knees went and my heart stopped
And to the ground I started to drop.
Then suddenly I looked up

And there you were looking down at me
Within your arms you held me tightly
As the sunset colors faded to gray
And the silence of birds ended the day
There we were where we were meant to me
Looking at one another into eyes soul deep
