You were the only one

You made me laugh when i was down,
showing me the other side of the door,
you picked me up when i fell,
helping me see what friends are for.

i talked to you about your girl problems,
showing you what not to do,
i helped sort out all your issues,
helping you see too.

after being friends for 9 years,
we both were now closer than before,
but you said we would always be friends and nothing else,
and being in love with you was like fighting a war.

your eyes,
so deep and blue,
showed me every time you turned me down,
you really cared for me too.

I'm slowly learning to move on,
but every now and then i hear our song,
the one we would always sing together,
and it slowly moves me along.

you are into sports and skinny girls,
I'm into art, guys, and writing,
you like all those other girls and you've moved on,,
and I'm left here crying...

this poem is for my dear friend Ethan...we may have both moved on but i still care for you.!
