The sunrise on our sunset

Sit and watch the sun rise
upon a new day
bringing hope
i reach for your hand
but its gone
just an empty void.

watching the sun enter the sky
under which so many memories
of our past rest
but now the shadow it cast
along my heart
pushing out the color

watch the clouds go by
as if there is no tomorrow
feels as though there is not,
not with out you anyway
i wish we could have stayed a little longer
i wish upon the star

i suppose this is it
no goodbyes
just broken memories
wishing for you by my side
but they wont come true
no matter how i try
