Can't We Go Back?

by Emma Carnage   Aug 13, 2005

Why must the one boy who loves me
Who I'm sure loves me
Live two thousand miles away?
He moved to Florida, to my dismay

I wish I could go back
And when he said "I love you" I would say it back
I would let him know every night
I would tell him it'll be alright

He says he still loves me
And I believe those words he says to me
It's how he can make me blush
And make my heartbeat rush

How did I ever do that to him?
I broke his heart, despite loving him
If only he still lived here
Then I could call him my dear

I don't care what my friends think of you
Because I believe I still love you
I can't tell you this though
Because it always hurts you to know

I can't believe I did it
I can't believe you took it
I put you through such pain
Because I couldn't see through the rain

Sometimes you act completely mad
And you can always make me mad
Even though your faults aren't few
I can't help but think I might still love you
