The Love I Shall Receive

I was living life to its full potential,
Enjoying the company of friends,
But until you came around,
I knew it was all pretend.

I would always act happy,
Just to see their smiling faces,
But to think of it,
It was all in good paces.

But I finally met who I was looking for,
A fine looking girl like you,
Who would always smile, always be happy,
That would not lie, and would always be true.

I remained causal and calm,
Just like it was another thing,
But I became head over heels,
And came to think of what this could bring.

I became in love with you,
I could not imagine life without you,
And if this would not last long,
Then I would remain in the blue.

My friends became happy for me,
That I had found someone I could love,
I was so happy,
It was a gift sent from above.

I am still happy and always will be,
I will always love you and will never leave,
I can trust you,
And believe in the love I shall receive.
