Asleep Without

by Ashley_LOVES_Jason   Aug 17, 2005

Falling asleep without you,
theres a space beside of me
which you used to occupy,
where you used to be.
When I turn over to hug you
cold sheets are all I find.
My arms search for your body to hold,
where love has left me blind.
Seems so quiet as I lay still.
No breathing in my ear.
Whispering 'I love you' to the air
though your not there to hear.
And in the dark I try to kid myself
that you are actually near.
So much so my hand searches for yours
only to relies your not here.
At the moment between awake and asleep,
I can see your face, the depth of your eyes.
Sometimes I think its really you.
And I hate how my own mind lies.
I miss the feeling of your presence, always so warm,
as loneliness slowly turns my heart cold and blue.
The scent of you on my pillow only adds to the emptiness
of falling asleep without you.
