Once loved

by April G   Aug 17, 2005

Hand in hand you walk,
she flips her hair as a watch,
wanting and wishing so hard to be the girl that you love.
I watch as you laugh,
I watch as you flirt,
I watch her show you off as i had done in the past,
I watched both hand in hand,
walking ever so sweetly
I remember when i was that girl and we held hands until the end,
I remember when you said you loved me,
and when you said that you cared.
wishing ever so hard to be that lucky girl once more.
the girl you loved and cared for,
the girl of yours until the end.
I think of all the special moments of you when you were mine,
I think of how much love we shared,
and there came a tear.
I weeped and weeped as i watched,
wanting so hard to disappear,
I knew that you were the one,
but I mustn't cry I mustn't shed a tear.
For all the things you did to me,
all the nights we shared.
You still did not love me so,
You still did not care.
I try and try so hard to forget,
Forget all the love that we shared.
It is over i know it is,
but i can't stop but a dream.
Tears fall down my lonely cheeks,
and i walk away,
unable to look back on the love i thought to be real.
You broke my heart but you don't care,
I don't believe you ever loved me,
but I do believe you cared.
All my hopes and wishes
gone with the tide,
to be lost out in the middle of no where,
that is where my love will be.
Walking father and father
I try to forget.
I wonder if when I died you would shed a tear,
for the loneliness and suffering
you had put me through.
I do not know what happened there,
but now I am old,
to live a life not worth living,
to be ever so lonely,
and to die the same way.
