I Love You

by Eric Hunter   Aug 18, 2005

Changes are all that I see
They are inevitable as they affect you and me,

Long have I searched for the good
Always have I found the bad,

New souls appear with the promise of being great
How quickly we realize those promises are easy to break,

I’ve held out for that magical special one
29 years and counting, I’m ready for my fun,

My heart has closed tightly but wants to open up
It needs a measurable amount of love to fill its empty cup,

I’ve found a love in this woman that measures beyond the top
Those eyes, that smile, her love grants me feelings I cannot stop,

Being myself and giving her all I have is a choice I’ve made
In a world full of grass I’m focused on this one special blade,

I love you, and will love you until the end
To live for you and marry you is what I intend,

Take my hand and let’s not feel so strange
You and I are ready for something great, indeed a good change
