Fortuitous My Adonis

by Elizabeth Ann   Aug 19, 2005

Uncharismatic…fortuitous to the fold
Forward in life’s requiem decides my fate.
Held you to this cause, my undisturbed policy, relentless forthwith I bend
Disclosed this marginal safe, behind I comment, bequeathed I rent my safe mask

Dionysus, beget of his wine, startled from what reality I’ve dined.
Facing the rain, and every whether since
Beauteous ye harmony signs, forging my release…

Come, face my arms and approach, steadfast your breakwater creeps and I drown.
Have I long missed this? Further cried as loud as yon nightmare
Fancied this could never be…

Belly your beliefs for this nonhuman, your Adonis pressured sighs
Levying thine affection and famine mine, sailing I repeal my lengthened threshold.
Enter, for I will not cross in exit…my love for thee as great

But time concluded overlong, moreover has your sentence lost your peace…
Leaving me responsible for your kiss; and mine never better wreathed.

Together through this moral war, a history plundered begun this hope.
Now crowding affection blurs my vision, secluded within your bosom.
