Dancing star held by a guardian angel

by Sean   Aug 19, 2005

When you burn,
I’m ash to your side…
With tears from your eyes,
I’m the salt in the wound.

With my hand in yours,
Clenching like a lost child to
a guardian angel, my first love.

Watch us, in the starlight skies I wish
I would travel with you, burning, effigies
For everybody to see.

Dear angel, when you burn, and you do burn, you
claim I’m the water for your soul, or the happiness
In your life? When delusions made myself believe,
I could be anything to you, so I do burn now too.

We’re stars now angel,
pulling everybody into a whirl of gravity
Yeah, we are stars now, and watch me
super nova, because all good things, like you
Come to an end.

Oh wow! This is breathtaking, but the ending is so sad! The realization that life too is just like the ending of this poem, sad! Take care~Holly

Very good. Very, very good. Yet morbid at the same time.
    How's your fiance going?
I really enjoyed this poem, great imagery, "I'm the salt in the wounds" it paints the picture, and isn't blunt. Well done!
