Our Flame

by Esther Rowley   Aug 20, 2005

You and I were like a candle,
Until you left me,
Which I couldn't handle.
The flame was burning to an end,
Which I could never mend.
When you came back into my life,
I was full of such pain and strife.
Why did you do it to me?
Love is something now I can't bear to see.
For now our flame is gone.

You showed me the way,
Straight up the long narrow road,
To love and happiness,
To watch the breaking of day to night,
And as the sun set in the sky,
You said good bye.
Why did you do it to me?
Love is something now I can't bear to see.
For now our flame is gone.
