The Rain Came Pouring

The rain came pouring, pouring down, through the dark gray sky,
It washed away the sunlight, it washed away her sighs
The rain came pouring down, through her thick hair
She was lost of thought, lost of words, all she did was stare
And as the rain came pouring, it also found a place,
It rained too upon the one she loved, the man who held her disgrace

And as the rain came pouring, pouring through the sky,
It opened up his heart and gave him tears to cry
The rain came pouring down, to his sorrowed space
He was all alone, all by himself, longing for her face
The rain came pouring down, pouring onto their troubled heads
And they both rose up slowly and got out of their lonely beds

The rain came pouring,pouring down, through the cold night air
But both kept running as fast as they could, neither of them cared
And finally, when both were wondering why they were out so late
Something special happened, a little thing called fate
And the rain came pouring down, down onto their happy kiss
It shone a moment when both were just happy that the other exists

Then the rain came pouring down, but the sun was coming out
And as the sky turned bright, and the birds sang loud, and it washed away their doubt…
