A Journey Through The Seasons

by xEmmax   Sep 11, 2005

(I wrote this poem about 4 yrs ago, about the lake district)

The sun shone through the light spring rain
Another shower passed again,
While small spring lambs jumped and played,
Across the fields where my feet layed.

Soon to come, the summer sun
Reflections dance and children run,
The lakes I pass are calm and clear,
Soon to change throughout the year.

And sure enough as autumn came
The lake is no longer calm and tame,
I kick up piles of coloured leaves
As autumn robs them from the trees.

And so my travel is nearly done
As cold bleak winter vows to come,
I leave the lakes and gently go
Across the fells of soft white snow.

This is brilliant - I have been trying to write something about the seasons. I am truly inspired by your magnificent piece! My fav stanza being autumn and how the trees are robbed of their leaves. I will be reading more of your poetry as I cannot wait to see what you have in store! All the best...
