Oblivious or Not?

So near yet so far
Still on the other side
Pushed away each time I'm close
From whom are you trying to hide?

The sadness there behind those eyes
I wish I could cast out
And take your pain, your burden
So you'd heal and live, no doubt

I hardly could explain to you
How much you cross my mind
And even though I haven't said
I'm not sure you're so blind

You see I think you're onto it
I think you've caught my drift
It wasn't my intention
So if you ask my feet will shift

But this is not the point now
There's no way you want to live
But if you'd just let me help you
I'd offer all that I could give
