Secret smile (The story of eternal love)

by Lenny   Sep 17, 2005

She was looking forward,
To the smile he always gave,
Just as they would pass,
Every single day,

She knew that he would care,
And to his heart he would be true,
And she hoped that hed be faithful,
Understand, and love her to,

For when the day would come,
And his decision would be made,
He would choose her overall,
And her worries would all fade,

Theyd be together always,
That special smile hed always wear,
And in his arms she would stay,
And never shed a tear,

For she knew from their first sight,
That they were meant to be,
For fate is often questioned,
But this was destiny,

One fateful day as always,
Their routine to follow through,
She walked up to the corner,
Where he was usually due,

But today he was not here,
Though disheartened, she did not make a fuss,
She picked up her pace,
And was struck by a bus,

From nowhere he came running,
And by her side he knelt,
Then he spilled his heart to her,
Told her how hed always felt,

The hospital did all they could,
By her bedside he would pray,
But alas she did die,
There, that very day,

The nurse came to the waiting room,
To tell him her final words,
Nurse, please tell that man outside,
His smile could out fly birds,

Diamonds his eyes out-sparkle,
He has always been the one,
To me his smile each day,
Was the rising of the sun,

Now I know my days are numbered,
And my minutes running out,
So please Nurse tell him,
To not worry, frown, or pout,

Because when the time comes,
And I have passed away,
He need not cry for,
We will meet again,

When she gets to heaven,
She said shed save a plot for you,
A special place beside her,
Where you could start a-new,

The Nurse looked up,
Prepared to console the man,
But the man, who was smiling,
Stood to shake her hand,

Puzzled, the nurse asked him,
Why he cried tears of joy instead of pain,
And the man replied without a thought,
The words running through his brain,

We both knew from first sight,
That this was meant to be,
And while fate is often questioned,
This was destiny

There is a moral to this story,
And it is as follows:
Dont put off what you can say today,
Cause there wont always be tomorrows.
