Saved By a Best Friend

Everything I loved
was ripped away
my life should have ended
on that horrible day

took a few pills
wanted to die
I knew I wanted death
and I wanted it that night

I started screaming for some reason
I can't remember why
I started freaking out
I no longer want to die

it wasn't family that I saw
when I pictured the end
it was the person I needed most
my very best friend

next thing I know
she was there on the phone
calling an ambulance
to take me from home

I was going to the hospital
and everything went black
I was about to pass out
thought there was no looking back

I woke up
and everything was so bright
I thought I was in Heaven
but it was just a light

my best friend was there
talking on the phone
telling my parents that I'd be okay
and that she wouldn't leave me alone

my best friend saved me
without her I would be dead
I couldn't go home yet
stuck in a hospital bed

we will be there for each other
until the day of our death
best friends forever
until my very last breath
