THE GIRL I NEVER HAD

Her smile can lit up a room when she's there
She is the only girl for me I looked everywhere
The way she looks at me takes my breath away
If only she knew that I love her more everyday

I long to hold her hand and to feel her touch
Wanting her to know how I adore her so much
When I see her pass by everything melts away
If only she knew she makes me feel this way

I want to tell her what I've been feeling inside
I want to show her all these feelings that I hide
But telling her might lead her away from me
If only she knew that my whole life is she

I wrote her a letter one day telling her how I feel
And then she wrote me back and it is so unreal
She said that only friends is all we can ever be
If only she knew what her life with me would be

We remained friends and this breaks my heart
I found a new love and made a brand new start
But still I see her as she passes by the hallway
If only she knew I still love her the same way

Years passed and we both have our own family
I sometimes wonder if she did ever think of me
I still ask myself why up to now I just can't forget
I cant forget why i love her..If she only knew....

***To give you a short story this poem is about a guy i like a few years back but told him i just want to stay friends. I wrote this as if he was the one writing the poem for me. Kinda weird but pls do vote or comment if u have time!
