What are we gonna do

Her mom hated him for breaking her daughters heart
So she did what she could to keep them apart
since they couldn't go to homecoming together, they had separate dates
Even though this isn't how it's suppose to be but for him she would wait.
She was dancing with her date and he was with his
but they both had the same thing to miss
He said "Do you know how bad it hurts watching you with another guy?"
She said "yea, as bad as it does seeing you with another girl, looking into her eyes."
He looked at her, his voice began to shake, "what are we going to do?"
All she could do was look up at him and say "I don't know"
Then they held each other and began to cry,
knowing they could never be together and not caring why.
