Can opener

by don mohr   Oct 17, 2005

I can open her eyes from being
shut from our world-an instance
lasts too long;
I can remember for her, every
song-she doesnt listen, anymore;
I can share her feelings, they are
so delicate and precious-she says
nothing is more deserving than
this;
I can make her world better than
what we had to begin with-a hush
leaves permission on her gentle
lips;
I can be strong...I can open her
mind to new things...I can open
her eyes, and in an instant make
her smile-the breeze touches the
leaves near a tree that stands
bravely in the graveyard, and
follows my footsteps down every
path...
