Veterans Day

by Christopher Cole   Oct 28, 2005

A day down in history
That was made up of terror
Brought from a war of misery
A war of horror

Armistice Day was its name
When it came about
Many men fought for fame
And didn't have a doubt

In the year of 1919
Wilson gave a speech
The first Armistice Day was proclaimed
To us he did teach

At 11 A.M on Armistice Day
There were parades and public meetings
A day of celebration
With many business greetings

A day set aside
To honor our veterans of World War I
President Eisenhower came up with an idea
To change Armistice to veterans

Now every year on November 11th
We have another Veterans Day
In order to honor our veterans
In a positive and memorable way.
