A soldier's Last thought

by April   Nov 2, 2005

Everywhere I turn I see bloodshed,
People round me always dying!
Theres no escape, when will this war be over?
When can I breathe again without fear running through my veins?
See these hands, how they tremble,
See my conscience, once young and innocent, now forever a scarred murderer!
A leg here, an arm there,
Wheres the body?!
I swear I've seen it all in this war, all but a simple reason why,
Why the slaughtering, why the hate. i look down but can't feel my legs. Every things turning as black as my soul must now be.
Is this what you wanted?
To diminish the little innocence we as mankind have left??
