A River, A Lake, A Sea

by Daniel Alexander   Nov 4, 2005

Blinders on their eyes
The ship has been capsized
Sink or float is up to you
I don't know enough to do
Any one thing to save
The life that you gave
To the riverbed underneath
While sand was pulled from the beach
But tidal currents moving slow
Grab hold of you and won't let go
Pulling into a deep abyss
You can't feel feelings you miss
Then you're spat back up on shore
Wondering what the sea did that for
And just how on earth it could be
A river, a lake, a mirrored sea
