Dancing on my Grave

by Daniel Alexander   Nov 4, 2005

Come do a two-step with me
Before I finally die alone
A dance right here on this fertile soil
That I will go to when I die
Love was only myth, something to dream
And when it fell through
No one knew what to make of it
So they kept searching, but I saw differently
I watched love die and the world go with it
Apathetic fools searching for love's gold
Finding nothing because there is nothing there
Settling down to the reasoning that God loves
And he loves one and all
A love that's not discriminate
Something that the human soul couldn't do
Preoccupied with trying to be like God
Trying to love thy fellow man
When that's impossible
Because everyone knows
You are your number one fan
The only one who matters
Because, after all
What good is love
If you can't take your lover with you when you die??
