Hollow Tip

by Daniel Alexander   Nov 4, 2005

Clipped wings and broken skin
Blood exposing the life beating within
Your hollow shell has finally given way
Up you arise from your home
Freer than ever to now roam
You're on you own, time no longer holds sway
Vertebrae loosened by the blast
Red dripping into breaths that are your last
But you don't have a care
Walk away, far from the scene
No longer being what you've been
Tunnels build clouds where you stare
Loose feeling takes hold of you
Like you are trying on something new
A vermin let out of your cage
No regrets to think of
Just the sky screaming above
No sadness, no more rage
Got a million questions for yourself
Answers in books all on a shelf
Somewhere you lie away
Tucked into the earth underground
Not free to make a sound
Visit your own grave to this day
Where the soil blankets cold flesh
And you don't utter another breath
Out here, lost alone
Never thinking you're scared of anything
Not even what their gods can bring
Never cared for what you were shown
Capillary veins re-mended again
Just when you thought you could win
They brought you back to life
