Burning Pages

by Daniel Alexander   Nov 4, 2005

My nails pulled back
Bleeding, shallow, wound
Red as the color
Of a setting sun
Meets the horizon
Telling all truth
Like a lie detector
Feeds off the mind
---------------------
Reading the pages
In deafening rages
The truth sparks a flame
Ready to fall apart
Without any heart
A kindness spurned from shame
-------------------
The world pulled back
To it's very core
The color matches
A burnt, dying soul
The night moves slowly
Through the trees
A breeze to give
New life to me
------------------
Burning the pages
In deafening rages
The hatred sparks a flame
Ready to kill this
Feeling you can’t miss
A murder leaves no shame
