If Things Were....

If things were a lie to me
do you really think I'd be writing this?

if these thoughts kept running through my head do you really think I'd be telling people?

if each moment i thought about you and what we shared a tear came to my eye would you even care?

when the hard times came and i didn't have you there do you really think I'd still be alive?

if each time i woke up in the middle of the night from a nightmare and didn't see your picture would you know how scared I'd be?

if one day i read the obituaries and see you picture there you could believe that soon I'd be up there with you.

if you still believe that everything was a lie to me and that someday things will get better....

why would i be writing this?
