Why do you love me?

by just a poet   Nov 9, 2005

Why do you love me?
i ask myslef,
why do you give a dam?
i don't have any wealth.

i used to live in the middle of a storm,
it's rain battering down on me,
its wind turning me upside down,
all i used to think was 'why wont this storm let me be?'

but then you came along,
your eyes with their secret smile,
and your lips with it's wonderfull ways,
to meet you i had waited a while.

so out of the storm i slowly came,
not sure if i should trust you,
you calmed the winds of hatred and pain,
you calmed my soul and mind down too.

you brought my boat to a safe shore,
you gave me hope once again,
i believed that i could trust you,
the storm inside me you had slain.

when you told me that you liked me,
i asked myself once more,
why would you love me,
why would you like me for?

you loved her before hand,
and you told all the world,
how could you love me,
my hair is not curled.

do you truly love me,
more than you do her,
i can't help loving you,
you with features so fair.

do you love me one bit?
do you love me true?
do you love me enough,
to tell all the known world too?
