Artist at Heart

by Amanda Chapman   Nov 14, 2005

How I wish I could paint your heart a canvas,
colors like you've never seen before,
make a special masterpiece,
to treasure forever more.
For every wonderful feeling,
a new color would appear,
getting brighter everyday,
from holding each other near.
Never letting go of emotions,
can paint a heart black,
leaving it cold and empty,
love is all it has to lack.
Feelings left from a past love,
can tear a new picture apart,
and another one can't be painted,
unless you give the new artist a chance to start.
