The things I can never forget

It’s been so long since you controlled my heart
So long since I cared that we were apart.
It’s been three months since I wrote to you,
And now’s the first time I’ve wanted to.
I still think about you, every now and again,
And I love you differently, it’s hard to explain
It’s like loving having you in my mind,
But also loving the emotions I left behind.

Though the time has passed and there’s no love to see,
You still remain in my life and mean so much to me.
Because you showed me who I was inside,
I stopped being so cautious, no need to hide.
You pulled me out of my hiding place,
And put a bright smile on my face.

Without you’d I’d be lost, I’m so glad we have met,
Because you taught me the things I can never forget.
