Love From a Distance

by Ashley   Nov 18, 2005

Her mahogany hair rested peacefully on her shoulders
absorbing the aroma of herbs and coffee.
The warmth from the fireplace caused her sun-kissed skin to glow in the dim café lights.
The bittersweet taste of her French vanilla cappuccino
lingered in her mouth.
She sat at ease,
relying on her slender arm for support.
Her face remained expressionless
while the tenderness in her eyes grew.
She had been watching him,
studying his every move;
The way his muscles flexed after every wipe
And the way he gritted his teeth when scrubbing a stain.
The circular motion he made with his hands
sent chills down her spine.
She wondered what it would be like to be held in those manly arms,
To stare into those emerald eyes,
To touch those golden locks,
To graze those rosy cheeks,
To taste those speechless lips
She had dreamt of him so many times before
She had desired him for eternity
How long will she have to wait for him to be hers?
