Black Beauty

by RadianceInReverse   Nov 21, 2005

A black butterfly so beautiful and rare
Its blackness received from fear
Once a beautiful red,
now all love and splendor is dead

The love of another created its brilliant color
the hate of one caused such dreadful wonder
bleeding out, the red now gone
a black beauty now drifts around
heartless, landing on a red rose,
turning it black
because of the pain now carried,
where ever it goes

Depressed, Suppressed of all love and color
everything touched turned to black

Black butterfly so beautiful and rare
drained of all color and blood
now floating along, forever alone.

not my best...but I love this poem...plz comment..thank you

Your poet heart speaks well. I really liked your poem and the way it flowed with words chosen for just the right moment as your poem began to speak of that heart. Keep up the good works I will be reading more.
