Romeo and juliet

by just a poet   Nov 23, 2005

Two households, both alike in status and in pride,
in fair Verona where we start our ride,
from an ancient quarrel they still find new strife,
where good people's blood makes good people's hands unclean.
two children are born to these two dammed rivals,
a pair in love who. for the other take there own life;
their doomed adventure so filled with despair,
with their deaths banished will be their parents hate.
the fearful passage they take upon themselves is sure to end their lives,
their parents wrath continue to grow, so unwise,
and only will it disappear when their children are no more,
is for the next two hours our tale from now till dawn;
and if you listen with patience this night,
what you have missed here will be squeezed in tight.
